Look what we found poking back up from last year! Comfrey! This herb is EXCELLENT for a variety of uses. We've had many friends and family use it already and it holds up to it's very popular nickname: "Knit-Bone." We just made a Comfrey Salve with it and it's now available in the online shop 😊: https://www.haashomestead.com/product-page/comfrey-salve

Comfrey has deep taproots that pull up minerals that the body needs for healing. It holds many minerals and nutrients in it's leaves, making it great for many medicinal uses like sprains, strains, broken bones, sore muscles, and internally as well. It has a compound called allantonin that speeds cell growth turnover and supports the body in healing. As it's name implies, it literally knits those bones, tendons, ligaments and tissues together with rapid healing.

It is also a super nutrient fertilizer in your garden beds; an excellent addition to your herb garden, but be warned! This will spread!! Everywhere! Container planting is best for this invasive little plant.

To use the topical salve: Rub into the skin anywhere it's needed, but AVOID BROKEN SKIN! Because comfrey heals so quickly and effectively, it can heal an open wound too quickly, not allowing any contaminants out.
