Beeswax wraps are a great way to ditch the plastics while still keeping your food fresh! Beeswax is natural and food safe and ideal for food preservation. It creates a protective barrier against contamination, air, and moisture, while still allowing food to breathe properly. It has natural antibacterial properties that discourage the growth of mold and bacteria.
Our reusable beeswax wraps are made with beeswax which is the natural protectant, pine resin for stickyness purposes, and jojoba oil for flexibility.
To use, scrunch up the wrap to warm and activate the beeswax (see video for instruction and example). This makes it stick better and makes it easier to form around your item. Use the heat of your hands to make it stick.
To clean, rinse in cold water and air dry. If food particles are stuck on, a quick scrub with a brush and soap in cold water works the best.
These reusable wraps typically last a year, depending on how much use they get. But they can easily be revived by adding more heated beeswax. Bread bags and larger wraps are in the works! They currently come in two sizes: Small wraps (6" x 8") and Medium wraps (12" x 12"). Currently sold in sets only at $18 per set.
